Prior to joining the Helitech team, I was a high school social studies teacher and coach in Pinckneyville, IL and Tiffin, IA. Prior to teaching, I worked as an account executive and coach for the Southern Illinois Miners baseball organization in Marion, Illinois. I am a graduate of John A. Logan Community College, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (B.A.), and Southern Illinois University-Carbondale (M.S.Ed. & M.A.T.). In addition, I had the opportunity to compete as a collegiate and professional athlete for several years. After playing at Logan for two years, lettered twice and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors for the Fighting Illini baseball team in 2002 and 2003. I was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2000 and later signed as a free agent with the Orioles in 2003.
My wife Shalae and I were married in 2007 and we have two kids, a son Tyler and daughter Turner.
This quote by Randy Pausch motivates me every day … “The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.”
As a project estimator for Helitech, I take great pride in helping customers understand the issues they are having with their home and the different avenues to go about solving their waterproofing and foundation problems in the Champaign-Urbana and Central Illinois area.
The most important life lessons I’ve learned are accountability, faith, trust, and loyalty. Working for Helitech as a project estimator to solve homeowners’ problems with the best products available gives me a great sense of satisfaction at the end of the day.
