Giving back to the community is a staple of the employees and atmosphere of Helitech. Every few months, employees from our Metro St. Louis/Main Office take time out of their schedules to cook and serve dinner to those staying at the Ronald McDonald House – Park Avenue (families and patients of Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital).
This has been an ongoing initiative to not only give back to the community through service, but also team building among the company.
Each time we get the opportunity to spend an evening with these families and serve them in their time of need is a truly humbling experience. Each time we participate, there are many repeat volunteers as they are so grateful for their own successes and families health, they believe this is the least they can do for those families in need.
Sometimes it’s the littlest thing of making a meal of Sloppy Joes because they’ve had pizza for the last 3 nights that brings the biggest comfort to the families. Or sometimes it’s sitting with a parents’ healthy child while they take care of and tend to their ill. It’s the little things that make up one very meaningful evening not for us, but for them.
